New Computers Arive

A lot has been happening with the CSPK project in Kenya since the last update in April, too much to be included in this section of the news page.

Our Web Site is now fully functional. It was planed to hold a celebration event to announce the launch on July 1st, but the severe weather Britain suffered meant we had to cancel.

However the Auction that was to be part of the event will now be held on July 20th at the Wanted Inn, near Buxton. More Details Here

April 2007

IT Teacher Training

Six of our eight schools, in the Bamburi area of Mombasa, now have computer labs up and running.

Two teachers from each school have had basic training on how to use the computers and programme's and how to conduct an I.T. class lesson.

 

January 2007

Shimo-la-Tewa Primary School

The Bamburi Community Schools Group was formed with Shimo-la-Tewa as its base for:
  • I.T. Association Meetings.

  • Certified I.T. Training.

  • Computers For Primary Schools Kenya (CPSK).
  •  

    IT Association Meeting

    An I.T. Association was set up with:
  • Head teachers from all eight schools.

  • Two I.T. teachers from each school.

  • The Project Coordinator from CPSK.
  •  

    Bamburi and Kadzandani Primary Schools

    Two more schools have been selected (Bamburi and Kadsandani) to join the project and work has begun on setting up their computer labs.

     

     

    Mombasa Polytechnic logo

     

    Two teachers from each school have enrolled with the Mombasa Polytechnic for an in-house Certified I.T. course.

    UUNET logo

    UUNET the corporate body of Africa Online put forward a proposal for the installation of satellite Internet access for all eight schools.
