Mikoroshoni Primary School is situated less than a mile from the Shanzu turn, just off the main B8 Mombasa to Malindi Road (See Map).

Pupils range from 5 to 16 years of age and follow the Kenyan Curriculum from Standard 1 to 8.

At Standard 8 all Pupils sit the School Leaving Certificate.

The school was built and is maintained by a small UK charity.

All of the children in the school are orphaned; many are victims of aids.  Most are supported by UK sponsors who pay for their education and orphanage costs. Some live in the community and are cared for by relatives or neighbours.

In January 2007 the computer lab was set up.

Standard 1 to 8 pupils will have a 30 minute lesson each day of the week. They will focus on the current Term’s Syllabus in Maths, Science, English and Geography.

A Computer Club will be run out of school hours.

I.T. Teachers will use these periods to train class teachers in computer skills.

A timetable was drawn up by the I.T. and Class Teachers.
