Bamburi Primary School is situated very close to the main B8 Mombasa to Malindi Road (See Map).

This Government school is set in its own grounds within a Community Development of housing owned by the Bamburi Cement Company.

Pupils range from 5 to 16 years of age and follow the Kenyan Curriculum from Standard 1 to 8.

At Standard 8 all Pupils sit the School Leaving Certificate.

The school is sponsored by the Bamburi Cement Company and has excellent facilities for communal sport events etc.

Electricity is already on site and a computer room has been set up by the Calamara Project. This needs some modification to make it useful as a classroom.

The computers are not currently being used by the pupils and there is a need to upgrade software and train staff in basic computer skills.

In January 2007 CPSK were approached by the Head Teacher who is very keen to join the computer project.

Consultation is currently taking place to enable this to happen. It is anticipated that work, to bring the computer lab up to CPSK standards, will begin in May 2007.
